This workshop will be devoted to examining how various Artificial Intelligence techniques can be used in the solution of environmental problems, including the Meteorological, Oceanographic and Agricultural. Of particular interest will be papers dealing with forecasting/prediction/prognosis issues. Examples of techniques and issues to be considered are:
Agents Artificial neural networks Case-based reasoning Constraint reasoning Deep knowledge Expert systems (including second generation) Explanation facilities Fuzzy logic Knowledge acquisition Knowledge-based systems Knowledge representation Machine learning What-if processing Spacial and temporal reasoning
The emphasis on the workshop will be on the application of AI techniques to the solving of envoronmental problems and the nature of those problems that pose special challenges to AI.
